Buying A Property

BUYING A PROPERTY

Buying a house is the biggest investment that you make in your life. Only New Zealand Residents or citizens can buy homes to live in. Whether you are a first home buyer or buying for investment, the process is not easy and it requires a great deal of attention.  This can be a stressful time as it requires you to do a title search, check the LIM report, building report, bank loans etc. We advise that you check with your lawyer before you sign the agreement to purchase, as once you sign the agreement you cannot change it.

Your lawyer will go through the agreement with you to make sure that the conditions and any additional terms, if any, are in your best interests. After the agreement is signed, the lawyer will examine the title, LIM, and building report to make sure everything is in order, then contact the Vendors Lawyer to confirm when any conditions have been satisfied and declare the agreement unconditional.

Once Settlement has been done on settlement day, the lawyer will ensure that purchase price is paid to the vendor Lawyer’s trust account from the amount from the bank and any cash contribution from you, electronically transfer the title of the property into your name and register the mortgage on the title and notify the bank and other authorities about the transfer of the property. We will assist you in in this process, manage the legal paperwork involved, advise you of any concerns and help in making the process smooth and efficient as possible.
